Super Metro suspends operations for three days

Nairobi public transport service Super Metro Limited has announced a suspension of its services for the next three days.

In a statement on Monday, Super Metro stated the move was to allow ample time to adhere to pending compliance measures.

“Following a hearing with the Transport Licensing Appeals Board today, the Board has directed Super Metro Limited to suspend operations for the next three days to finalise the remaining compliance measures,” Super Metro stated.

It said it had achieved 90 per cent compliance following the directives issued by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB).

The transport service promised to respect the court and board’s decision as it looks forward to resuming operations.

“We are working diligently to address the outstanding compliance issues within the stipulated time frame and will resume operations as soon as we receive approval from the relevant authorities,” it added.

This is after Super Metro operations were suspended on March 20 for failing to comply with road safety measures.

However, days later, the court temporarily lifted the suspension, allowing the fleet of buses to resume normal operations

Super Metro has expressed commitment to fully adhering to all regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and satisfaction of passengers.
