Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Wednesday chaired the inaugural meeting with the senior management of the Ministry of Health at Afya House, Nairobi, to discuss strategic priorities aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery.

The Cabinet Secretary emphasized the importance of putting national interests first, reaffirming that healthcare remains a key pillar of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

He underscored the government’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring the successful implementation of the Social Health Authority (SHA) to expand access to affordable and quality healthcare for all Kenyans.

Duale further reiterated the need for efficiency, accountability, and integrity in managing health resources.

He called for strict adherence to constitutional and legal frameworks, including relevant laws and legal notices, to ensure effective governance in the sector.

The Cabinet Secretary also highlighted the importance of teamwork, service delivery, and prudent use of public resources, urging ministry officials to uphold honesty, diligence, and professionalism in their roles.

He reiterated that efficient utilization of resources is critical to achieving the Ministry’s objectives and delivering quality healthcare services to Kenyans.

He was accompanied by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni, and Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, among other senior ministry officials.

“The meeting sets the stage for alignment on priorities, strategic direction, and collaborative efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in Kenya”, observed PS Muthoni.
