The horrible accident occurred along the Koru-Muhoroni Highway at Ogona Junction at approximately 9:30pm involving a bus en route to Nairobi and a trailer heading to Kisumu. A preliminary police report showed that the Nyaugenya bus, registration number KBJ 917 R, was travelling to Nairobi from Usenge, Siaya county, when the accident occurred.
