Awinja has warmed hearts after she single-handedly led anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests in Mbale, Vihiga County. As her fellow celebrities joined Kenyans in protesting in Nairobi’s CBD, Awinja mobilised youths from her county as they took to the streets to protest. A video of the award-winning actress carrying a placard with the names of the Kenyans who had been allegedly abducted before the Tuesday protests asking the government to free them, left her fans awed.  The mother of one had a large loudspeaker in her left hand as she urged her fellow countymates to hold a peaceful demonstration. Here is the video: Fans of Awinja praised her for her bravery with some urging her to run for the Vihiga woman representative seat in the next General Election.
