Man detained 10 days over murder of Embakasi woman

A man has been detained at Embaksai police station for 10 days for a suspected murder case.

Simon Kadenge is accused of murdering a lady – Lawrencious Mumo – on October 12.

Investigating Officer John Weru said Mumo was strangled to death according to a postmortem conducted on October 18.

Weru asked the court through Principal Magistrate Marylene Opondo to grant him more days to probe the case.

He said the matter was first reported as a suicide incident and that the statement of witnesses have not been recorded.

“Considering the nature of the offense he committed, he is a flight risk and can pose danger to interference to potential prosecution witnesses,” Weru said.

He urged the court to have the respondent escorted to Mathari Referral Hospital for Mental assessment.

The magistrate allowed a 10 days probe adding that the case will be mentioned on November 4.    BY THE STAR
