Award-winning journalist Waihiga Mwaura delivered a beautiful appreciation message to his immediate former Boss Dr. SK Macharia and his wife Purity Gathoni Macharia.

A thankful Waihiga expressed his gratitude to that couple for offering him employment for the past 14 years and shaping the journalist he is now.

“I want to begin by sincerely thanking the chair and the vice-chair Dr and Mrs Macharia for the exemplary leadership,” Waihiga said in part.

In his exit message from Royal Media Services, Waihiga also expressed his gratitude to his line managers for the support they offered him over the years.

Here is Waihiha Mwaura’s exit message from Citizen TV

“Tonight after 14 amazing years at the Royal Media Services, my time here has come to an end.

“None of this could have been possible without the God lord almighty who has guided me every step of the way from 2009 when I began this journey here until today.

“I also this evening wanna give thanks to my wife Joyce Omondi Waihiga who I coincidentally spotted on this television (Citizen TV) channel back in the year 2012 and the rest as they say is history.

“I want to thank my family both nuclear and extended who have supported my media aspirations.

Let me focus on the Royal media services.

I want to begin by sincerely thanking the chair and the vice-chair Dr and Mrs Macharia for their exemplary leadership.

I want to thank our group managing director Wachira Waruru for his support mentorship, support, and guidance over the years and I will particularly remember our Wednesday meetings.

I special thanks to all the Directors here and this including Linus Kaika, Carol Wanyama, Latifah Ngujiri, Fred Afune, Rose Wanjohi, Mike Ngugi, and Moses Karanja.

Not forgetting the amazing editors, the reports, cameramen and video editors, admin team, security, and technical team that make this place what it is,” Waihiga signed off.
