Two Men Sentenced To 7 Years In Jail For Trading Ksh.3.4 M Ivory

 

Two Kilifi residents have been sentenced to seven years behind bars after being found in possession of 34 kilograms of elephant tusks with an estimated street value of Ksh.3.4 million.

Khamisi Kahindi Kenga and Emmanuel Baya Zege, the Office of the Director of Public Pubic Prosecutions (ODPP) says, were arrested on September 10, 2017 at Bamba Trading Centre while trading four elephant tusks.

The Prosecution, led by Winnie Atieno Otieno, presented five witnesses before justice Justus Kituku and proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused committed the offence.   BY CITIZEN DIGITAL
