Bride dies on her wedding day |
Sorelle Manuella, a Cameroonian bride, broke many hearts after collapsing and dying at her wedding reception.
In videos circulating online, Manuella was seen happily dancing before she suddenly collapsed. Her bridesmaid and husband quickly surrounded her.
The couple was dancing before they could cut their wedding cake to share with their invited guests. She was rushed to Ad Lucem Sable Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of her death remains unknown. Manuella leaves behind three daughters, with the youngest being a little over one year old.
The unfortunate incident occurred while she was interpreting a song for her husband.
According to a close family member, the couple was supposed to wed in 2020, but COVID-19 intervened.
“She had been living with her fiancé for seven years. The wedding was scheduled for 2020, but because of COVID, it was postponed. This year, we rescheduled the wedding; the dowry was on Friday, and then yesterday it was town hall. It was during this evening, around 3:12, that the drama took place in the middle of the room. My little sister (cousin) leaves behind a husband and three beautiful little girls, having worn her wedding band for a few hours. What I often read on Facebook—that one passes away on their wedding day—has also hit our family. Rest in peace, Sorelle Manuella,” shared the relative.
Popular Ivorian musician Roseline Layo, the author of the song the bride was interpreting, mourned her demise, saying, “It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Elue Sorelle Manuella, who left us on her wedding day in such upsetting circumstances.
I am deeply touched and very saddened to know that my music accompanied her in her last moments of life. Manuella left a moving memory, that of a woman full of life and love. To her family and loved ones, I would like to express my sincere condolences and support during this difficult ordeal. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory remain forever in our hearts. I would also like to get in touch with her family as soon as possible. With all my compassion and affection, Roseline Layo.
