Netizens Question Karangu Muraya’s Absence at Daughter’s Graduation

Akorino musician and content creator Karangu Muraya has responded to online criticism after missing his daughter Esther’s graduation on Monday, 19 October.

His absence prompted a flurry of questions from followers, many of whom wanted to know why he was not at the ceremony.

While Esther celebrated her big day in a blue cap and gown, holding flowers and her certificate, Karangu was nowhere to be seen. His estranged wife, Triza Njeri, attended in his place and shared proud photos of the moment on Facebook.

Why did Karangu miss his daughter’s graduation?

Facing mounting backlash, Karangu took to his own Facebook page to set the record straight.

According to his post, the two had agreed the previous night that he would first attend the graduation of Asaph, identified as Esther’s brother although he is a nephew. He would then meet Esther separately afterwards.

The explanation did little to win over his audience. Many followers questioned how he could priorities one sibling’s milestone over another’s, especially as both ceremonies appeared to fall on the same day.
