Kenyan socialite Amber Ray sparked debate online after telling her son Gavin that her pregnancy with him was unplanned during a family dinner livestream.

“I didn’t plan for the pregnancy, but things happened,” she said.
Her confession prompted Gavin to ask a question that caught the attention of viewers watching the family conversation.
“Are you calling me a mistake?” he asked.
Amber responded by describing him as one of the best mistakes she had ever made, explaining that having him had shaped her life and contributed to the person she had become.

In July 2023, she revealed that she had become pregnant at 17, describing the pregnancy as unplanned while also praising her son and the close relationship they had developed.
“I got pregnant at 17. It was by mistake. But he (Gavin) is the best child ever,” she said during an interview.
She added that Gavin had witnessed different stages of her life, including periods when she had to start over financially.
