KSh 416,000 in 7 Days: Nairofey Breaks Down Her Influencer Income

Kenyan lifestyle and travel content creator Nairofey has drawn wide reaction online after publishing a detailed breakdown of her earnings for one particularly profitable week.

In the reel, posted on Instagram, Nairofey walked viewers through each income stream. She used phone-screen recordings, M-Pesa confirmation screenshots and a yellow earnings graphic to show how the money came in.

The total, displayed at the end of the video, was KSh 416,000.

How Nairofey made KSh 416,000 in one week

Her week began with two Instagram story placements. One was a product review. The other was a straightforward story ad.

Later the same day, she completed a week-long brand review, which earned her $1,000 on its own. A separate monthly brand contract, which had been pending, was also paid during the week.

Beyond the cash

Not all of her gains came as money. Nairofey also received products and services through brand collaborations.

A beauty brand invited her in for a PR package. She also visited a salon for a manicure, pedicure and other treatments worth KSh 10,000. She paid nothing for them.

Earning on commission

Nairofey has a commission arrangement with a hair brand. She earns a cut each time a follower buys through her link.

In her caption, Nairofey was candid about how unpredictable influencer income can be.

“The reality of being an influencer is that some weeks you make really good money, and other weeks you can make close to zero,” she wrote.

She added that the income fluctuates, but knowing how to price yourself and understand your worth is everything.
