Nakuru-Eldoret Highway closed after fuel tanker explodes at Sachangwan

The Nakuru-Eldoret Highway has been closed at the Kibunja and Soilo interchange after a fuel tanker exploded on the busy road.

The fuel tanker is said to have exploded shortly after midnight Tuesday, October 6 at Sachangwan, along the Salgaa-Nakuru stretch of the highway.

The Kenya Red Cross reports that it has attended to two injured people, with a multi-agency team successfully containing the fire.

“Please use alternative routes,” Kenya Red Cross urges motorists using the road.
