Andrew Kibe Reveals Why He Walked Out of Marriage, Love and Church

Controversial Kenyan content creator Andrew Kibe has opened up about the collapse of his marriage. Speaking on the latest episode of The Kisiangani Podcast, the former radio presenter shared the reasons behind his decision to walk away from his four-year union.

Kibe, who rose to prominence as a morning host on NRG Radio and Kiss 100, was once deeply involved in a local church. According to reports he met his ex-wife in the choir and felt intense pressure from church leadership to marry, even being required to fast for three days prior to the wedding. The union, however, did not last.

The Breaking Point

On the podcast, Kibe explained that the primary reason he walked out was what he described as a lack of compliance. He stated that he could not tolerate his authority being questioned or disobeyed by his partner.

“I just walked away because I knew I’d put myself in a position where I could not handle her,” Kibe said during the interview.

He further elaborated on his expectations within a domestic partnership.

“I can’t have somebody in my life if I come to the house I mean there are many things that I can forgive you for but I cannot forgive you for going against me,” he added.

Kibe claimed that his partner changed after they took their vows, which led to a breakdown in their dynamic.

Compatibility and Philandering

According to Kibe, the couple managed to stay together for four years before parting ways. However, the relationship grew increasingly strained after the first year. Kibe admitted that he remained faithful for the first twelve months but began cheating as his frustration mounted.

“When I got married, for one year I didn’t cheat,” Kibe revealed. “Now by the second year, I’m already philandering,” Kibe added.

He noted that the cheating went both ways, suspecting that his ex-wife was also unfaithful. Kibe clarified that he did not view his former wife as an inherently bad person, but rather that their personalities were fundamentally incompatible.

She she’snot a bad person,” Kibe explained. “It’s just that me and her are like sodium and water,” he said.

Leaving the Church

Before ending his marriage, Kibe made the decision to distance himself from his church. He cited growing disagreements with the clergy and a shift in the church’s spiritual practices as his primary motivations.

“I just was like these guys don’t have the faith that I need anymore,” Kibe said when describing his departure.

Following his departure from both the church and his marriage, Kibe developed a highly cynical outlook on the institution of marriage itself. On the podcast, he argued that human relationships are driven primarily by biological urges rather than long-term compatibility.

“Human beings come together because procreation must happen,” Kibe stated. “So once that process ends now there’s nothing else to do,” he concluded.
