Kenyan automotive content creator George King’ara has celebrated a strong finish at the Shell V-Power Games in Budapest, Hungary, after placing 10th in the global competition.
Sharing the news on his social media page, King’ara revealed that he would not be returning to Kenya empty-handed after competing against creators from across the world.
“60+ creators from 29 different countries competed for the ultimate prize at the #ShellVPowerGames. I’m not coming back home 🇰🇪 empty-handed; we secured P10.”
The result capped off several days of competition that brought together more than 60 digital creators representing 29 countries.
Participants took part in a series of physical, mental, driving and team-based challenges organised as part of the Shell V-Power experience.
Flying the Kenyan flag
King’ara travelled to Hungary as Kenya’s representative after being selected by Vivo Energy Kenya, the marketer and distributor of Shell products in the country.
Before leaving for Budapest, he described the opportunity as a proud moment, saying it would allow him to showcase Kenya’s growing automotive content creation scene on a global platform.
Throughout his stay, the content creator shared updates from Budapest, giving followers a glimpse of the competition and the international atmosphere surrounding the event.
His latest post confirmed that his campaign ended with a top-10 finish. “I’m not coming back home empty-handed.”

Global competition
The Shell V-Power Games were held alongside activities linked to the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, bringing together creators from different regions to compete while experiencing Shell’s long-running partnership with Scuderia Ferrari.
The event combined driving activities with teamwork, problem-solving and endurance challenges designed to test participants across multiple disciplines rather than speed alone.
Shell’s collaboration with Ferrari remains one of the longest-standing partnerships in Formula One, with Shell V-Power promoted as the only fuel recommended and used by Ferrari for its road cars.
Recognition for Kenya
Although King’ara narrowly missed a podium finish, placing 10th in a field of more than 60 competitors marked a notable achievement for the Kenyan creator on the international stage.
The result also highlights the increasing visibility of Kenyan digital creators in global brand campaigns and motorsport-related events.

Memorable moments beyond the competition
Away from the games, King’ara also fulfilled a dream shared by many Formula One fans after meeting Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
The Kenyan creator shared photos and videos of the encounter, describing Hamilton as “the greatest driver of all time,” while celebrating the rare opportunity to interact with two of Formula One’s biggest names.
