Oga Obinna Explains Why He Rejects Women Who Only Show Interest During His Prime

Oga Obinna is currently one of the most talked-about media personalities in Kenya. His podcast and social media presence have made him a household name. This fame has brought a significant amount of female attention.

A Surge of Public Interest

Recently, several high-profile women have publicly shared their feelings for him. Singer Miss P even took part in a mock wedding shoot with the star. Content creator Naomi Kuria and Radio Maisha’s Jitabi Suleiman have also been linked to him in public discourse.

Despite these advances, Obinna remains cautious. He suggests that the interest is often based on his current success rather than his true self.

The Versions of Obinna

In a recent discussion, the podcaster reflected on his journey. He believes people are only interested in the version of him they see today. He feels he is at the peak of his career and life.

He noted that his current admirers did not know him a decade ago. Back then, he was struggling to find his footing in the entertainment industry.

“I’m at my prime now, and most women who want to meet me are meeting the current Obinna. They don’t know the Obinna from 10 years ago,” Obinna stated.

The Struggle Years

Obinna recalled his early days of hustle. He described himself as being very different 10 years ago. He was “a very noisy mean animated rusted voomi”.

He spent those years doing road shows and dancing in clubs to make a name for himself. “When I was building and dying my hair maroon and I’m doing dance music I’m dancing in road shows in clubs, I’m trying to figure out,” he added.

Skepticism Over “New” Love

The entertainer is skeptical of those who claim to love him now. He believes that if he were still the struggling artist of the past, these women would ignore him.

An “Exit Strategy”

Obinna’s main disappointment stems from the timing of these admirers. He suggests that many women reaching out are looking for stability rather than a genuine connection. He feels there is a mismatch in where he and his admirers are in their lives.

“And now you find some who want me now, are way past their prime, so they are looking at a retirement plan or an exit strategy,” he added.

He noted that some of these women have been around the block. This makes him question their intentions.

The Difficulty of Choice

Obinna expressed that it is nearly impossible to tell who is sincere. He admitted that the toughest thing is that “you cannot know.” He compared the unpredictability of the dating world to the world of politics.

As he continues to grow his brand, the podcaster seems content to stay wary of those who only showed up once the hard work was done.
