The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) has announced a public auction of motor vehicles and other assorted items. MSEA said the goods shall be auctioned at the MSEA Kariobangi Centre of Excellence in Nairobi on Tuesday, June 30, from 10:00am. The authority noted that bidders should make refundable deposits for each item on the auction list. “Interested tenderers will be required to pay a refundable deposit of KSh 20,000 for vehicles, KSh 10,000 for generators, and other equipment at KSh 5,000, whereas the rest of the items shall require a payment of KSh 2,000 on the auction day at the venue to obtain a bidding number, which will also serve as an entry pass to the auction yard/place,” it stated in a notice in MyGov on Tuesday, June 23.

Potential bidders are required to make reservations through Garam Investments Auctioneers, who will thereafter liaise with the relevant Micro and Small Enterprises Authority office. All items will be sold on an “as-is-where-is” basis, meaning no warranties or guarantees are provided on the condition of the assets. Detailed auction catalogues are available at Garam Investments Auctioneers offices for KSh 200. Alternatively, the catalogue can be downloaded free of charge from the MSEA website. Only two representatives per bidder will be allowed at the auction site, and they must carry a catalogue and valid bidding number. Successful bidders will be required to pay a 20% deposit immediately at the fall of the hammer, with the remaining balance payable within 14 days.
