Gilgil Accident: Man Painfully Shares Last Text He Sent Sister Before Finding out About Her Death

A young Kenyan man has broken the hearts of many after sharing the last message he sent his lovely sister before discovering that she had died in the Gilgil accident that recently claimed the lives of 11 passengers. A Kenyan man mourned his sister Ndanu. The grisly accident occurred on the night of Friday, April 3, in the Kariandusi area after a matatu rammed into a trailer, killing nearly all the passengers in the Likana Sacco matatu. In a heartbreaking TikTok post, a Kenyan man shared the painful messages he sent his sister as he was trying to find out her whereabouts on the fateful day of the accident. In the messages, the worried man asked his sister where she was, saying he had been looking for her. Sadly, those messages went unanswered.  He shared a few more photos of his memories of her, with the most touching photos being from her graduation ceremony, which was held in 2025. Kenyans comfort grieving brother Many Kenyans were touched by the man’s post, and they took to the comments to comfort him, with others who knew his sister penning emotional condolence messages.

May she rest in peace, and my condolences to the family.”  Truck driver in Gilgil accident speaks In other news, hours after the accident, the truck driver whose trailer was rammed into by the matatu said that he was driving slowly along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway after his vehicle developed a mechanical issue.

The driver said he was looking for a safer place to park when suddenly he heard the loud sound of a crash. At first, he did not know that the matatu had crashed into the rear of his truck. When he went to check, he was horrified by the scene he saw, as most of the passengers had died in the crash. “I was just beside the highway, but then I decided to continue driving slowly until I got a safe place to park. It all happened in a flash because I heard a loud sound coming from the back of the trailer. I went to check what had happened and found that the vehicle had rammed into my trailer. I was so shocked,” he said.
