Murang’a erupts in song and dance to welcome Gachagua

Thousands of residents gathered in Murang’a town, breaking into song and dance as they awaited DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua’s address.

Gachagua is in the town to officially open the party’s branch offices before addressing a public rally.

Earlier, the former Deputy President paid a courtesy call on Governor Irungu Kang’ata, who recently joined the party and announced that he would seek re-election on its ticket.

The party has also attracted dozens of local political aspirants seeking its tickets ahead of the next General Election.

The visit comes a day after Murang’a town witnessed another major political event when area MP Ndindi Nyoro embarked on a meet-the-people tour attended by thousands of residents.

During the tour, Nyoro extended an olive branch to other United Opposition leaders, saying he was willing to work with them in a bid to unseat President William Ruto.

Residents are also awaiting Gachagua’s remarks on Nyoro’s latest political move.
