Kenyan comedian and content creator Mulamwah was recently caught off guard by his young son, Calvin Oyando. In a video shared on his Facebook page, the father of two was seen spending some quality time with the toddler.
However, the bonding session took a hilarious turn when the young boy decided to address his father using a surprisingly formal name.
A Surprising Choice of Words
While the pair were relaxing together, Mulamwah asked the boy who he was speaking to. Instead of using “Dad” or “Papa,” Calvin firmly addressed his father as “Baba Calvin.”

The comedian, whose real name is David Oyando, appeared visibly shocked by the choice of words.
He repeatedly asked the boy to clarify what he had just said. “You are calling me Baba Calvin? Baba who?” Mulamwah asked in the video.
The toddler did not hesitate and repeated the title, “Baba Calvin,” leaving his father in disbelief.
“He’s calling me Baba Calvin,” Mulamwah told his audience.
Fans React to ‘Intelligent’ Calvin
The video quickly went viral, drawing significant attention from Mulamwah’s large following. At the time of reporting, the post had already garnered over 255 comments from fans who were entertained by the exchange.
Many viewers were quick to praise the young boy’s sharpness and quick wit.
One follower, Sweetner Jeruto, commented that the boy is intelligent and noted how much he resembles his father.
“He is intelligent, ulijizaa.”
Another fan, Caroline Mukami Amani, joked about how fast the child is growing up. She remarked that the toddler might soon start addressing the audience like a professional content creator.

The Mimicry of Childhood
Several social media users pointed out that children are like sponges, often repeating what they hear from the adults around them. Commenters suggested that Calvin was simply mimicking how his mother, Ruth K, addresses Mulamwah.
“He hears how the wife calls you, so he also calls you that,” wrote Ester Nekesa.
Another user, Well Glad, agreed with this sentiment. They noted that it is natural for children to pick up on the names used by those in their immediate environment.

Mulamwah and his ex-partner, Ruth K, welcomed their son, Calvin Oyando, earlier in 2024. Before their bitter breakup, the couple frequently shared updates about their family life and parenting journey with their fans across various social media platforms.
While Mulamwah may have been “thrown away” by the formal title, his fans clearly enjoyed the glimpse into the young boy’s developing personality.
