Kileleshwa Safety Alert: Josh Oxy Attacked While Filming Content

Popular Nairobi car spotter Josh Oxy has recounted a frightening robbery attempt in Kileleshwa after a group of men on motorbikes allegedly tried to snatch his phone while he was filming content.

The incident, which he shared through a video on his social media pages, happened while he was at his usual spotting location shooting automotive footage.

Incident Unfolds During Content Shoot

According to Josh, everything seemed normal at first until he noticed an unusual number of motorbikes repeatedly passing the same spot.

He said several of the riders were wearing orange caps and hooting as they rode by, something that immediately caught his attention.

The continuous movement of the bikes made him uneasy, but he remained in place, still recording content.

Moments later, the situation escalated when one of the bikes stopped directly in front of him.

Suspects Move In

Josh explained that a passenger jumped off the parked motorbike and rushed toward him. The man allegedly attempted to grab his phone, which Josh was using to shoot.

He said he instinctively held onto the device tightly with both hands as the attacker tried to pull it away.

As Josh attempted to move backwards to create space, another person grabbed his jacket, tearing it in the struggle.

He says he then lost balance and found himself on the ground. While down, three people allegedly surrounded him, all trying to wrestle the phone from his hands.

Josh said he fell on his chest and held the phone close with both arms while lying flat. He described the moment as chaotic, with the attackers pulling at him and his clothing as they tried to take the device.

While on the ground, Josh spotted an opening and managed to get back on his feet. He ran across the road in an attempt to escape.

Even as he fled, one of the attackers reportedly continued holding onto his jacket. Josh says he struggled free and managed to break away from the group.

He ran further from the scene until he was out of reach, leaving the suspects behind. The attackers did not succeed in taking his phone.

Injuries After the Struggle

Although he escaped with his belongings, Josh said he sustained minor injuries during the incident.

He reported scratches on his knee, marks on his face, and bruises on his elbows from falling and being pulled during the confrontation.

In his message to followers, Josh described the experience as frightening but said he was grateful to be safe after the encounter.

He shared the account to inform others about what happened and to document the incident he faced while working in the area.
