In an interview with Shiksha Arora, content creator Sheryl Gabriella spoke about her early struggles, a turning point in 2021 and the financial milestones that followed her rise in the digital space.
The Highest Campaign She Has Earned
As her profile expanded, Gabriella began securing brand campaigns that significantly changed her financial position.
When asked about the highest amount she has ever made from a campaign, she explained that the figure was calculated over several months rather than a single deal.
Breaking down the numbers, she stated that multiplying a monthly rate over three months resulted in approximately 1.3 million, earned before tax.
She added that this milestone came at a young age, noting that she had just turned 25 on January 7 when she reflected on the achievement.
The disclosure highlighted the scale that content creation campaigns can reach when consistency and audience engagement align.
Leaving Nairobi Amid Uncertainty
Sheryl Gabriella traced her journey back to 2021, a period she described as uncertain and decisive. At the time, she had quit her job and felt that Nairobi was no longer working for her.
She recalled having a candid conversation with her mother, informing her of her decision to return home.
According to Gabriella, she had already begun repositioning herself creatively, spending time “parking” herself in different spaces as she tried to figure out her next step.
The night she was scheduled to leave Nairobi became an unexpected turning point. Instead of departing as planned, she encountered fellow content creator Kabugi, who was also at the early stages of his career.
A Chance Encounter That Changed Her Path
Later that night, Gabriella said she reached out to Kabugi with a simple request, asking whether they could shoot content together the following day.
Kabugi agreed, and the collaboration marked the beginning of a shift in her journey.
The content they produced resonated widely online, with one particular clip she referred to as “shembeteng” gaining significant traction.
The viral moment led to a rapid increase in followers and visibility, opening doors to new opportunities. Gabriella noted that Kabugi played a supportive role during this period as her audience continued to grow.
What She Makes in a Day
Gabriella also shared insight into her regular earnings. Asked how much she usually makes in a day, she said the figure averages around 200 dollars.
She explained that the amount reflects consistent daily activity across content creation and collaborations.
Gabriella added that she frequently performs live on TikTok, with the live sessions contributing significantly to the income she earns on a daily basis.
