Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz has found himself at the centre of a public dispute following claims that he neglected one of his long-time managers, Mkubwa Fella, who is currently critically ill.
Allegations from Mkubwa Fella’s Wife
The controversy began after Mkubwa Fella’s wife accused Diamond of abandoning her husband during his illness. She claimed that the singer stopped picking calls and failed to offer support at a time when the family needed help the most.
Her remarks quickly spread on social media, prompting widespread discussion and mixed reactions from fans.
Don Fumbwe Responds to the Claims
In response, Don Fumbwe, another manager working closely with Diamond Platnumz, has come forward to challenge the accusations.
According to Don, Diamond played a major role in financing Mkubwa Fella’s medical care from the onset of his illness.
Medical Support in Tanzania and India
Don Fumbwe stated that Diamond first paid Mkubwa Fella’s hospital bills in Tanzania before arranging for him to receive specialised treatment abroad. He explained that Diamond facilitated Mkubwa Fella’s airlift to India in business class and fully covered his hospital bills while there.
He further revealed that Diamond also catered for expenses for three other people who accompanied Mkubwa Fella to India to assist during his treatment.
Financial Support to the Family
Beyond medical expenses, Don Fumbwe disclosed that Diamond provided pocket money to Mkubwa Fella’s wife and continued sending financial support to the family throughout the treatment period.
Support After Returning to Tanzania
Upon Mkubwa Fella’s return to Tanzania, Don said Diamond continued paying medical bills and regularly sent money to the family, insisting that the singer never withdrew his support.
Diamond’s Reaction to the Claims
Don Fumbwe added that Diamond was hurt after learning that Mkubwa Fella’s family allegedly claimed that Diamond was denying other people an opportunity to help the manager. According to him, this deeply affected the singer given the level of support he had extended.
As Mkubwa Fella remains in critical condition, the contrasting narratives have left the public divided. Calls have grown for empathy, privacy and unity as the family navigates a difficult period, while no official statement has yet been issued directly addressing the conflicting claims.
