Gody Tennor Responds to Australia Theft Allegations

Kenyan musician Gody Tennor has addressed allegations suggesting he stole an iPad during his recent tour in Australia.

In an exclusive interview with Milele FM, Tennor dismissed claims of theft, describing the situation as a personal disagreement that escalated publicly.

The controversy gained attention online after reports emerged claiming that a Kenyan artist in Australia had taken a MacBook and other items.

Social media users quickly identified Tennor as the subject of these reports, tagging him across multiple platforms.

During the interview, Tennor clarified that the device involved was an iPad, not a MacBook. He said he initially refrained from commenting but decided to provide clarity on the events. “I wasn’t supposed to talk about this story,” he said.

Association and Gifts in Australia

Tennor explained that he met a woman during his Australian tour who provided him with attention and high-value gifts.

He stated that she spoiled him during his stay and that their interactions were mutually acknowledged.

“So vile nilifika Australia maze there is this girl… alininidedi… alikuwa ananispoil tu ananipatia hyper kitu”, he stated.

Tennor noted that he had been using the iPad openly, including setting up his personal iCloud account and storing his photos on the device while they were together.

Origin of the Dispute

The disagreement reportedly arose after a social media post by Nairobi Gossip, which featured Tennor celebrating an anniversary with his girlfriend in Kenya.

Tennor said the woman in Australia saw the post and contacted him while he was on a flight, demanding that he hand over the iPad to a third party or child.

Tennor said her request frustrated him, and in response, he initially told her that he had lost the device.

Return of the Device

Addressing claims of theft, Tennor insisted that the iPad was part of a dispute over gifts, not stolen property. He confirmed that he returned the device.

“Unfortunately nilirejesha after one day nilifika Kenya”, he stated.

Tennor further alleged that the woman contacted promoters in Australia in an attempt to harm his professional reputation. He described her actions as a way to gain public attention.

Focus on Music Career

Despite the online attention surrounding the incident, Tennor stated that his mental well-being was not affected.

He highlighted that he was focused on his music career, noting that he was busy shooting a video for his project.

“Saa hizi nashughulika na dogo yangu inaitwa Six Cars ndio nashooot leo.”

Tennor concluded by expressing his intention to move past the matter, reiterating that the public accusations were motivated by personal interests.
