Lydia Wanjiru Breaks Down the Millions She Spent on BBL, Lipo and Tummy Tuck

Kenyan content creator Lydia Wanjiru is continuing to share her recovery journey after undergoing a series of cosmetic procedures earlier in November.

The influencer, who is known online for her relationship discussions and her turbulent romance with fellow creator Frank Doso, recently revealed that she had opted for liposuction, a tummy tuck, and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

Lydia breaks down the financial reality

As is common whenever public figures enhance their bodies, questions quickly turned to cost and where the surgery had been performed.

Lydia’s followers asked the same, and in keeping with the openness she has maintained throughout her recovery, she offered a detailed breakdown of what the procedures had set her back.

In a video shared on Instagram Stories, she indicated that the total expense had gone well beyond KSh 2 million.
“If you don’t have at least KSh 2 million, please don’t attempt these things,” she said, explaining that the three procedures alone ranged between KSh 1 million and KSh 1.2 million, excluding pre-op and post-op requirements.

She also highlighted the additional medical checks that must be done before surgery — including blood work, urine tests and organ assessments — to ensure that a patient is healthy enough to undergo the operations.

Beyond the hospital bill, Lydia noted that the aftercare phase is equally demanding, listing follow-up massages, transportation, dietary adjustments and the financial strain of taking time off work.

Her comments sparked widespread discussion online, with many acknowledging the hidden costs that come with cosmetic enhancement.

Debates online over who footed the bill

As her video circulated, some social media users questioned whether Lydia paid for the procedures out of pocket or collaborated with a cosmetic clinic as part of a promotional deal.

She has not addressed those claims directly, but her transparency about the expenses has continued to fuel debate.

Earlier case: Pritty Vishy’s cosmetic journey

Lydia’s revelation comes months after fellow digital creator Pritty Vishy — real name Stacy Vugusu — disclosed that she had spent more than KSh 500,000 on her own set of cosmetic changes.

What began as a plan for fat removal later turned into a BBL after doctors advised her on ways to achieve the results she wanted.

Her transformation followed significant weight loss; she previously stated that she shed 41 kilogrammes after using Ozempic, a diabetes medication that some people use to reduce body weight.

She turned to medical weight loss after feeling her gym efforts were not delivering the outcome she desired.

Shortly after her surgery, Pritty made headlines when she appeared at a public event before she was fully healed.

Her appearance stirred debate online about the pressures influencers face to remain visible, even when recovering from invasive cosmetic procedures.

Experts warn of long-term upkeep

While conversations often focus on the upfront cost of cosmetic surgery, medical experts consistently remind the public that the financial burden extends well beyond the operating theatre.

Procedures such as BBLs, liposuction and tummy tucks require long-term maintenance — from lifestyle changes to professional aftercare — to ensure both the desired aesthetic and overall health are preserved.
