Akothee Breaks Silence After Near-Death Experience With Fascinating Post

Musician and businesswoman Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has broken her silence days after a health scare that left her hospitalized.

Taking to her Facebook page, she shared a series of photos and videos, jokingly captioned:

“Wacha nijicheke 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ngoja nikanyage chini mtanijua na zile handkerchiefs zangu 😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣 I forgot how to walk yoo.”

In a separate post, she reassured her fans and family that she is recovering well, asking the public not to disturb her children with questions about her health.

“Guys, my children have panicked. Please don’t ask them how I am doing, I am well, sawa? Ignore hiyo story ukiwaona,” she wrote.

Her posts, filled with humour and relief, marked her first public statement since the life-threatening medical emergency that struck her earlier this month.

Following her latest updates, fans flooded Akothee’s comment section with messages of relief and encouragement.

Many praised her resilience and sense of humor despite recent struggles, while others urged her to continue prioritizing her health.

Akothee’s lighthearted return to social media signals not just recovery but also a renewed focus on gratitude and healing — a reminder that even Kenya’s most energetic entertainer sometimes needs to slow down and heal.

A Frightening Medical Ordeal

On November 9, Akothee shared a harrowing account of the incident that sent her to the hospital. Posting from her hospital bed, she revealed she had collapsed in her washroom after a night of excruciating stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhoea.

According to her, the ordeal began after she watched a distressing video that deeply affected her.

“I had been having severe stomach pain since I saw that disturbing video of the young girl in my home. I was so terrified that I literally went into labour,” she recounted.

By 5:00 a.m., the pain had intensified to the point that she collapsed and had to be rushed to the emergency room by her children. However, upon arrival, she said the family was met with what she described as a lack of compassion from a nurse on duty.

“Instead of showing compassion, she raised her voice and told them, ‘Go outside and wait in front there,’” Akothee said, adding that her daughter Vesha pleaded for help as she struggled to sit in a wheelchair.

She later received medication and reported feeling “some relief,” though she noted that her stomach remained “tired and very painful.”

Health Struggles and Focus on Healing

This recent medical scare comes just weeks after Akothee opened up about ongoing health challenges and her decision to prioritize recovery and mental wellness.

In a lengthy statement posted last month, the self-proclaimed “Madam Boss” revealed that she had been battling a series of health complications, including blood clots, severe migraines, and uterine fibroids.

“I was diagnosed with severe migraines, a blood clot, and uterine fibroids. They can’t locate where the blood clot is exactly,” she wrote, adding that previous medication had caused her to lose consciousness for three hours.

She described this period as her “healing era,” noting that she had taken a break from public life to focus on therapy and recovery.

“I have come out of a very dangerous zone, and I have been healing in private. I am in my second month of therapy,” she said.
