Dem wa FB Heartbroken to See Sammy Kioko Shed Tears Live on Obinna Show

Digital creator Dem wa FB has voiced her deep anguish after witnessing comedian Sammy Kioko break down during an interview on The Obinna Show Live.

The creator, known for her candid social media presence, expressed profound dismay over the visible suffering of her fellow artist.

The raw emotion displayed by Kioko has since sparked a renewed online discussion about the financial difficulties facing artists in Kenya.

It also highlighted a specific dispute with the Machakos County Government.

The Desolate Image

A widely circulated image from the interview captured the moment Kioko was overwhelmed by his struggles. He was seated, dressed in a formal tan suit with a dark pocket square.

The comedian covered his mouth and nose with his fist, appearing to hold back a sob. Tears were clearly visible on his cheek; a powerful image of a man stripped of his professional facade by personal tribulations.

Dem wa FB’s Heartfelt Plea

Dem wa FB shared her heartbreak on social media, reflecting on the sustained pressure Kioko has been under. She noted that his physical appearance had changed under the strain.

“For over three weeks now, we’ve all watched Sammy Kioko pour out his pain online,” she wrote. “And each day, his voice sounds heavier, his spirit dimmer.”

She described his state as reaching a “point of visible exhaustion and still being met with silence.”

Calling Out the Inaction

The content creator went on to condemn those in power who have the ability to resolve the situation but choose to ignore it. She posed a crucial question regarding the lack of compassion.

“What’s even more painful is knowing that those who have the power to make things right choose to look away,” she stated. “How long will this silence last?”

She asserted that the issue is not just about the money owed. She said it is about “dignity, fairness, and the value of a young man’s effort.”

The Background of Kioko’s Tribulations

Kioko’s emotional appearance came after months of publicly detailing his severe financial distress.

His struggle centred on a substantial payment, reportedly KSh 19 million, owed to him for a county project.

The comedian claimed the delayed funds left him unable to support his ailing sister who requires urgent medical attention.

To raise money, he was forced to announce the sale of his cherished car and the closure of his production business.

Fans Offer Swift Compassion

Despite the official silence that Dem wa FB criticised, Kioko’s fans acted swiftly. During the emotional Obinna Show episode, host Oga Obinna set up a donation till number.

Viewers responded with immense generosity. They quickly raised over KSh 221,000 for Kioko’s sister’s medical treatment, proving that compassion and empathy were present among his fanbase.

The County’s Response

The Machakos County Government few days ago offered a clarification regarding the payment dispute. They stated that the tender was awarded to a business entity and that payments were initially delayed due to incomplete delivery of goods.

They emphasised that Kioko had “no legal authority” to speak for the company involved. However, Kioko maintained that the contract had been fully performed and that urgent medical care was required for his sister.

Dem wa FB ended her post with a stern warning. She said, “We cannot keep watching a hardworking youth crumble under the weight of injustice and still claim to ‘support the youth.’ Let’s not wait until it’s too late. Compassion means acting now.”
