Kenyan actress and content creator Star Chebet — who also goes by Esther Chebet — has made a return to social media after a prolonged absence.

The actress, known for her role in the television series The Real Househelps of Kawangware (TRHK), had deactivated her accounts earlier this year amid personal struggles and public speculation.

Her return comes after months of silence and growing concern from fans and colleagues alike.

In a recent post, she indicated she was back online, signalling a readiness to re-engage with her audience.

Period of Silence and Concern

Throughout mid-2024, Chebet’s social media channels were inactive, prompting concern about her wellbeing. During that time she posted a message stating:

“I’m currently doing well and still trying to understand what lessons I was meant to pick through that whole experience.”

She also referenced troubling spiritual and emotional experiences, saying she believed she had “tapped into the wrong realms” and “got into something I can’t really reverse.”

In January 2025, the media outlet Pulse Live reported that fans were worried over her whereabouts, as she had been silent since June 2024 and there were rumours of mental-health difficulties and spiritual distress.

Return Under a New Name

When Chebet finally resurfaced online, she did so with quiet determination.

Under the name Esther Chebet, she broke her silence to address the rumours directly, calling out false reports that she had died or joined a cult.

In a series of videos and posts, she clarified that she had not been in any institution, nor was her disappearance a publicity stunt.

Instead, she described her time away as one of “deep reflection and renewal,” adding that she was learning to navigate her faith and mental peace in private.

Chebet thanked her followers for their concern, saying their messages had been a source of strength during her difficult period.

Her tone was calm but confident — a sign that she had regained control of her narrative.

Re-Engagement with Audience and Next Steps

Following her return, Chebet has begun sharing uplifting content on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, hinting at a possible comeback in entertainment.

Though she has not confirmed any new projects, her renewed online presence suggests a steady re-entry into the creative space.

Fans have responded with encouragement, welcoming her back and expressing hope that her story marks the beginning of a more grounded
