Comedian 2mbili led a team this week to clear the rental residence of the late Shalkido. This swift move comes less than a month after fellow comedian Obinna generously paid six months’ rent for the young man.
The team arrived at the residence where Shalkido had been staying to collect his household items. These belongings were set to be moved to his grandmother’s home ahead of his burial.
Landlord Agrees to Refund
Crucially, the team confirmed that the landlord refunded a significant portion of the rent paid by Obinna’s team. Omosh spoke with the landlord, who agreed to return the money.

Shalkido had not even completed a full month in the house. The landlord “just had to understand” the circumstances.
The rent had initially been paid for six months. The landlord’s team reportedly deducted the balance two months before returning it.
“Omosh aliongea na the landlord and they are so good manze they accepted to refund the rent. Now that Shalkido hata hakuwa amemaliza mwezi kwa hiyo nyumba,” 2Mbili confirmed.
Background to the Move
The moving operation was organized to coincide with the ongoing funeral preparations. The team was collecting the household goods to take them to Shalkido’s grandmother’s residence.
The burial is scheduled to take place at his grandmother’s home in Matangi, which is situated in Ruiru, specifically Kimbo.
Mori, Shalkido’s cousin, confirmed he had been residing with Shalkido at the rental property. Mori had moved out immediately after the events surrounding Shalkido’s passing and had not returned to the house until the day the items were being moved.

Destination of Goods
The initial plan was for the items to be taken to the grandmother’s home. However, reporting later confirmed that Shalkido’s belongings were delivered to his father’s house.
The items brought included his entire household: a bed and mattress, a small table, and a couch. Discussions were held regarding where the bed and other items would fit within the relative’s residence.
2mbili’s team confirmed that the money repaid—the deposit and the rent balance—had been successfully transferred.
Arrangements for Shalkido’s final rites were simultaneously taking place. A requiem was scheduled for the All Saints Cathedral, with the burial due to follow thereafter.
