‘I Bring Nothing to the Table!’ Hilarious Over 40s Kenyan Dating Show Sparks Buzz

A relatively new Kenyan dating show featuring contestants aged over 40 has taken social media by storm, thanks to its unfiltered humour and refreshingly candid cast.

Airing every Sunday on TV47, the show has quickly become a source of endless laughter and lively debate online, after clips surfaced on X (formerly Twitter).

“I Bring Nothing to the Table — I Might Leave With That Table”

The online buzz began when user Regina Phalanges (@MissMutukuT) shared highlights from the show on October 12, 2025, capturing the internet’s attention with a series of outrageous and witty quotes.

In one viral clip, a woman confidently declared, “I bring nothing to the table — in fact, I might leave with that table.”

Her boldness instantly earned her the title of “queen” from amused viewers. Another contestant, when asked what she brings to the table, cheekily replied, “Who asked you to bring the table in the first place?”

These moments set off a wave of laughter and disbelief, with users flooding the comments to share their favourite lines.

@derekoketcho06 quoted a man who dodged a question about his children by saying, “Yule anajulikana na watu ni mmoja” (“The only one people know about is one”).

Another highlight came when a frustrated male contestant blurted out, “F** this sht mahn!” mid-conversation, leaving both the audience and fellow daters in stitches.

Real People, Real Laughs

According to @MissMutukuT, the entire cast is made up of men and women in their forties and fifties — giving the dating show a mature yet hilarious twist rarely seen on Kenyan television.

The contestants openly discuss love, marriage, divorce, and the awkwardness of dating later in life, with no filters or pretence.

One viewer, @Shikuekwe, quoted a woman being asked, “Are you ready to take care of four?” while another clip captured a participant being called “wife material,” prompting a collective “Aaaaaaah!” from the audience, as recalled by @Nakeel.

Fans Want More

The clips have created an online frenzy, with Kenyans scrambling to find out where and when to tune in. “Alar, nataka kuona! Iko wapi? Link ama channel?” pleaded @ettie_Jey, to which others quickly responded, confirming that the show airs every Sunday on TV47 and even includes makeover segments for the contestants.

@theonejik summed up the mood perfectly, calling the programme “refreshing nonsense” — a lighthearted escape from the overly polished reality shows that usually dominate local television.

Some eagle-eyed fans, like @heySuse_, spotted familiar faces, saying they recognised three actors from their Kenya National Theatre days, while others like @05_moseh insisted “a legend” was among the cast.
