Kenyan content creator Njambi Fever has sparked a heated online debate with a direct warning to women: do not offer a home to a financially struggling boyfriend.
In her view, inviting an unemployed or broke man to live with you can destroy the relationship’s foundation and lead to a loss of respect.
The Risk of Losing Respect
In a recent Instagram post, Njambi argued that a woman moving a man into her home—and providing for him—can permanently disrupt the relationship’s balance.

She believes this dynamic creates a cycle of dependency that is almost impossible to break.
“Makosa usiwai fanya as a woman ni kujiona ati ukona pesa mingi sana sasa unaambia boyfriend yako kwa sababu hajapata kazi akuje akae kwako mpaka apate job.”
“The biggest mistake you can do as a woman is asking a man to come live in your house as you provide.”
Njambi believes that love shouldn’t be confused with material provision. She advises that if a woman loves a financially struggling man, it’s better to navigate the struggle together from his own space.
“Kama umependa mtu ako broke, heri mkateseke huko kwa single room yake; usijaribu kumwambia aingie one bedroom yako ama two bedroom juu unaona ati uko financially stable, haiyaeh.”
The Viral Cautionary Tale
Njambi’s comments were prompted by a viral tweet from a young woman who shared her own painful experience.
Her story highlighted the real risks of a woman providing for a man, including potential emotional and physical harm.

The woman wrote that she:
Fed and clothed a man when she was 20.
The man, once well-fed, would then physically abuse her.
Her powerful words serve as a stark reminder of the dangers Njambi warns against.
“When I was 20, I fed a man … and clothed him, lakini alikua akishiba ananipiga kuliko Ngoma ya bango night.”
A Widespread Conversation
Njambi Fever’s advice has stirred a wider conversation online.
Instagram user @mcmanviva joked, “Haya mliamua lazima mutrend hii mwaka 😂,” suggesting Kenyans always find a way to spark viral debates.
Another, @kenyan_banker, noted, “Just say never let a man get so comfortable kama hayuko job,”
