PS Bitok hosts teachers’ unions, headteachers ahead of Saturday’s State House meeting

Basic Education PS Julius Bitok on Wednesday, September 10 morning hosted a consultative meeting with teachers’ unions and head teachers’ associations ahead of the State House meeting with the President this Saturday.

The two-hour long meeting focused on the agenda of the meeting to be hosted by the President and the composition of the 10,000 – strong delegation of teachers’ representatives.

Present at the Jogoo House meeting were top officials of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), the Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KUSNET), the Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA) and its secondary School counterpart, KESSHA (Kenya Secondary School Heads Association).

The meeting resolved to have the unions share out delegates as follows: KNUT: 3,300, KUPPET: 2,000, KUSNET: 400, KEPSHA: 2,300, and KESSHA: 2,000.
