A young lady’s speech during her mother’s burial has left many stunned and emotionally moved in equal measure. Kenyan lady’s speech at her mum’s burial sparks mixed reactions. A video shared on TikTok captured the lady, dressed in a black dress, eulogising her mother in a way that caught many off guard. Instead of the calm and tearful tribute one might expect from a daughter about to lay her mother to rest, the young lady expressed immense courage and humour. What did Kenyan lady say about late mum? “Mum is already here, I cannot say I don’t have strength and start crying, why would I do that? Mum’s journey on earth has ended, I’m the one left now,” she said, causing the mourners to burst into laughter.
Pacing up and down as she spoke, the young lady declared herself her grandparents’ firstborn now that her mother was no longer around. She further urged her brother not to feel bad or cry, encouraging him to stay strong despite the overwhelming situation. “Let grandpa not worry or feel bad, I’m here. I cried a lot yesterday, but today I’ve chosen to be strong. I’d like to urge my siblings to be consoled,” she stated. The young woman revealed that she was the firstborn in her family and dearly loved her mother, though she regretted never telling her just how much. What is Kenyan lady’s regret after mum’s death? “It’s so unfortunate I never told her how much I loved her, but if God wanted her to hear it after she passed, then that’s okay too. Mum, we love you so much, but please go in peace. Don’t come back to haunt us,” she added, causing the mourners to chuckle through their tears.
She acknowledged that her mother was no longer a part of their lives but expressed gratitude for the presence of her grandparents, who took on the role of parents. “We haven’t been raised by our mum or dad; our grandparents raised us, along with others. We are going to school, so there’s nothing much that will change. Let’s allow her to rest in peace,” she added. She also appreciated the pastor’s presence, noting how much he had mentored and encouraged them through the tough times. What did netizens say about Kenyan lady’s tribute? Slyyh: “There are reasons why she’s speaking like this; let’s not judge her too harshly.” Fine G: “Where I come from, if you have this much courage, they’ll say you killed your mother.” Madollar: “Did you hear her say she wasn’t raised by her mum, but by her grandmother? That explains her confidence; there wasn’t a strong bond between her and her mum.” Talia: “It’s not easy, my sister. Just wait until the end of the month, and you’ll start to feel what it’s like. Then you’ll understand the importance of a parent. I wish mine could wake up just for one day.”
