Veteran comedian and content creator Flaqo (Erastus Ayieko Otieno) has opened up about the emotional toll of his breakup with fellow creative Keranta.
The two, once social media’s favorite couple, had long served fans with “couple goals” content before rumors of their split began swirling online.
Speaking on the Mic Cheque Podcast, Flaqo revealed the deeply personal struggles he faced when their private life became fodder for public gossip.
He recalled moments when he would log onto social media only to find strangers speculating about his bedroom life — and even questioning whether he was circumcised.
“So many things were going on then. I remember thinking, should I text my ex and ask why she’d let people assume such things? But I decided to keep calm. Honestly, I even reached a point where I thought, tomorrow at 11 a.m. I’ll just prove everyone wrong. And that’s the worst thing about heartbreak — it can push you to act irrationally. But thank God I never did that,” Flaqo shared.
The comedian admitted he kept his struggles to himself, not even confiding in close friends, leaving them shocked when they discovered he was single again.
“I felt so alone because I didn’t want to share what I was going through. What’s crazy is that at the same time, I was shooting content back-to-back and going hard at the gym. My project manager even asked me what was wrong. But I didn’t want to drown my pain in alcohol,” he said.
Flaqo has since embraced fitness as part of his lifestyle, affirming that he has fully moved on from the relationship.

On Taking Back the Car
Just two weeks ago, Flaqo also addressed criticism after repossessing a car he had gifted Keranta. He clarified that the vehicle was registered in his name and was never meant to remain with an ex.
“A car is a convenience gift to my girlfriend, not my ex. Once there’s an ex, there’s no car,” he explained.
He added that he dislikes confrontation, which is why he let Keranta keep one of his fully furnished houses.
“Asking back for the fridge would be petty. But a car? That’s different,” he noted.
Content vs. Reality
Reflecting on the digital space, Flaqo also spoke on the curated nature of couple content online.
“I look at YouTube couples and I can tell when it’s rehearsed. But I’ve made peace with it. Entertainment is entertainment — whether staged or not.”
