Residents of Kitui town were stunned on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, after a young woman openly confessed to using traditional powers to punish her own mother for allegedly taking away her husband.The story, which has since ignited heated debates on morality and family loyalty, unfolded during a tense gathering at the family’s homestead.

The woman, 27-year-old Irene Mwikali, told neighbours she had been happily married for three years before her life took a shocking turn. She claims her mother, 49-year-old Esther Koki, began visiting her home frequently under the guise of helping with chores but secretly seduced her husband.Within months, the man had moved out of Irene’s house and was living with Koki in a rented room.To read more,click here
