Former Otile Brown Manager, Mumbi Maina, Speaks Out After Exit

Mumbi Maina isn’t backing down. The entertainment manager has fired back at critics on her instagram stories, after quitting as Otile Brown’s manager last week.

Her response? She’s not scared of anyone except God.

The drama started when Maina announced she was leaving her role managing the popular Kenyan artist. They’d worked together for a year.

Now she’s facing a wave of criticism online. Some people questioned her decision. Others made personal attacks.

“I’m Not Running Away”

Maina took to Instagram to set the record straight. She made it clear she wasn’t quitting because she was weak or scared.

“I am not scared of anybody, the only person I’m scared of is GOD,” she wrote. “I am quiet out of choice and not out of meekness.”

She told critics they could say what they wanted. After all, they hadn’t walked in her shoes.

“It’s a free world you’re allowed to have your own opinion,” she said.

But Maina wasn’t having any of the personal attacks. She called herself “a high value woman” who had worked hard to get where she is.

“I have values that I don’t compromise on and nobody can tell me otherwise.”

The Pressure Behind the Scenes

Managing celebrities isn’t easy. That much is clear from Maina’s departure.

In her original statement, she talked about needing “peace, purpose, and professional evolution.” Those are polite words for what sounds like a stressful job.

The artists get the spotlight. The managers deal with everything else behind the scenes.

Maina had been with Otile for seven months after taking over the role. Now she’s moving on.

 Standing Up to Online Bullies

The former manager didn’t hold back when addressing online harassment.

“There’s no amount of bullying that can get to me,” she wrote. “Especially not from internet idlers and a society that’s led with misogyny obsessed with humbling women.”

Her message was clear: the bullying tactics wouldn’t work.

She said her decision came after “much thought and reflection.” People close to her already knew what was happening.

This wasn’t a sudden move. It was planned.

Moving Forward

Maina said working with Otile was “a journey she’ll always be proud of.” It was full of growth for both of them.

But now it’s time for something new.
