I witnessed something on June 25 that I will never forget for the rest of my life. It was in Makongeni, Thika, where chaos had erupted during the anti-tax protests. Protesters were everywhere, some peaceful, some angry. But like always, there were a few who took advantage of the situation to loot.
I watched as a group of young men stormed into a supermarket near the stage, smashing the glass door and rushing out with cartons of goods.They laughed and ran as others cheered them on.I felt bitter inside. This was not part of the protest. People were there to fight for the cost of living to come down, not to steal. I stood with others and watched helplessly.To read more,click here
