Kenyan gospel group Wapendwa Muziki, comprising Mesh and Nina, has made a mark on the African gospel music scene with their breakthrough hit, Amefanya Mungu. Wapendwa Muziki’s Amefanya Mungu song has touched millions of hearts. The catchy hook of the timeless song goes: “Ona vile amefanya Mungu Ni yeye, ni yeye amefanya Mungu…” How many views does Amefanya Mungu song have? The song, released on Wednesday, March 5, has touched many hearts across the region and garnered 10.5 million views. The feat is a first for Kenyan artistes, gospel or secular. Reflecting on their success journey, Nina told TUKO.co.ke that hitting 10 million views is not just a number. “It’s proof that God is moving through this song. We are so humbled, grateful, and really inspired more than ever to create more music.”

Nina admitted that they did not envision hitting the milestone so soon. “From our first upload, we hoped that our message would touch hearts, but reaching 10 million people shocked us. It was beyond our expectations. But it reminded us that when God is at the centre, His reach is unlimited.” What inspires Wapendwa Muziki’s music? “The inspiration behind our music comes from God. We do not sit down and write with a plan. It’s Him who gives us the melody, words, and message. We just open our hearts in worship, and what flows out is a song. We then rush to the studio and sing, and then the spirit leads the way,” Nina said. She expressed gratitude to their supporters and spoke blessings upon their lives, saying: “Your unwavering support, belief in us, and prayers have been a constant source of support. Thank you for never giving up on us.  We love you and are excited to journey together. God bless and continue favouring you in the name of Jesus, amen.” What’s next for Wapendwa Muziki? “Expect more godly music, and by the grace of God, we are expecting to do our Wapendwa Live concerts. Some special surprises are along the way. Keep an eye out and subscribe to our channel.”
