Popular content creator and digital personality Jaymoh Decin has sparked a necessary conversation in Kenya’s creative industry, urging fans and fellow Kenyans to support and celebrate artists while they are still alive.
In a passionate Instagram post, Jaymoh voiced his frustration with the growing trend of people only recognizing creatives after their death, instead of offering encouragement during their lifetime.
“Let’s give flowers to creatives kama bado wako,” he wrote. “Tusingoje Demise ndio tuanze kupost Msanii everywhere vile mtu alikuwa talented.”

Jaymoh emphasized that while tributes after death are appreciated, they don’t reach the person they’re meant for.
He questioned why many wait until a tragedy strikes to appreciate talent, saying that if people celebrated artists while they were alive, it could have gone a long way in boosting their morale and even saving lives in some cases.
“What if the same posting tunageuka tunapost akiwa alive, it would have helped a lot in so many ways,” he pointed out.
He called on fans to support creatives with a genuine heart, adding, “To everyone supporting creatives out here whether we ni celebrity or just a fan, God awabless zaidi.”
Jaymoh concluded his message with a heartfelt tribute to the comedy industry, noting that it had lost yet another talent.
While he did not mention a specific name, his message seemed to come in the wake of recent losses in the Kenyan entertainment scene.
“To the field of comedy, we have lost a talent… praying for peace to the close family and friends,” he wrote.
