Police in Embu have arrested a suspect in connection with a break-in and theft incident at the Fidenza School of Nursing in Kyeni, Embu East Sub-County, which occurred on the night of July 14, 2025.

According to authorities, unknown intruders unlawfully gained access to the school compound, where they vandalised the students’ canteen and made away with assorted shop items, including an electric water pump.

“The suspect was subsequently taken to Runyenjes police station for further action,” the Police stated.

Following the incident, police officers from Runyenjes Police Station responded promptly and launched investigations.

Acting on intelligence and with the support of the local community, the officers successfully traced and apprehended a suspect believed to be involved in the burglary.

The arrested individual later led officers to his residence, where all the stolen items were successfully recovered.

He was then taken into custody at Runyenjes Police Station, where further legal action is expected to follow.

In a statement issued on Monday, July 15, 2025, the National Police Service commended the swift response of the officers. It lauded the cooperation from members of the public, which was instrumental in solving the case.

“The National Police Service remains committed to delivering professional, responsive, and efficient policing services. We thank the community for their invaluable support in ensuring justice is served,” police stated.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing, as police work to determine if there are any other individuals connected to the break-in.

This comes days after police officers in Nairobi arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of electronic devices in Mathare.

Officers from Utalii Police Station stormed the suspect’s residence, which also serves as an electronics repair workshop, following credible information from members of the public.

The National Police Service has assured citizens across the country of protection of human lives and their properties in an operation to fish out those who break the law.
