Nadia Mukami Updates on Arrow Bwoy Health After Police Brutality on June 25 Protests

Nadia Mukami has shared an update on her partner Arrow Bwoy’s condition following his claim of injury during the June 25, 2025, protests in Nairobi.

Arrow Bwoy, real name Ali Yusuf, posted a video showing a police officer striking him on the backside with a baton, sparking outrage among Kenyans decrying police brutality.

The protests, part of a wave demanding justice for victims like Boniface Kariuki and accountability for Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat, who stepped aside amid investigations, were marred by alleged goons disrupting peaceful demonstrations.

In a phone interview with Ankali Ray, Nadia downplayed Arrow’s injury, saying, “He’s fine; it was just a minor thing. He likes to exaggerate, but it wasn’t serious.”

She expressed frustration at the police’s actions, stating, “I was livid. They manhandled the father of my kids. These officers are rude, trying to prove a point.

The protests were infiltrated by goons, making it seem like we support chaos, but we won’t stop speaking out.” Nadia, expecting a child, declined to confirm plans for a gender reveal, keeping the focus on the protests.

Meanwhile Arrow’s new protest anthem, Mapambano, has struck a chord with Kenyans, earning widespread praise online for its bold message.

Fans on social media rallied behind it:

@brendankatha8038: “Kenyans, let’s do justice to this song! March with artists, sing fearlessly. Much love from Messi Kadenge 254. #Mapambano ”

@stifflah1kymkym261: “Arrow Bwoy, thank you for this masterpiece. God bless you. We’ll take our country back. #TAM”

@ree_gang255: “This track made me follow this guy! Arrow Bwoy ”

Critics, however, questioned the protests’ direction:

@ltepilalabara: “Kasongo, you’re foolish for this chaos.”

@lawikiptootanui: “This song fuels nonsense. Hime bakwa na mafala ”

Others urged action: @malvinsentertainmentke: “25th June, wear black masks, march to State House! ”

@khaliwayz : “Let’s trend this to 1M views in 2 days! 25th Anthem is out! ”

The song’s raw energy, blending reggae and Afrobeat, captures the spirit of resistance, with lyrics calling out “mafala” (fools) in leadership.

As Kenya grapples with rising tensions, Mapambano has become a rallying cry, with fans like @sozansozann5923 pushing to “take Arrow to the top” and @Kingzillahmusiq celebrating its “wantam” vibe.
