A family from Chebarus village, Ndalat ward, Mosop constituency, in Nandi county has been thrown into mourning following the untimely demise of their kin. Nandi woman Madeline Jeruto died in Australia. Madeline Jeruto had travelled to South Australia for further studies, where she sadly met her fate. When did Madeline Jeruto travel to Australia? “Jeruto arrived in Australia in September 2023, full of dreams and determination to build a bright future. Tragically, just two weeks after arriving, she suffered a mild stroke and faced ongoing health challenges from then on.

“Despite the efforts of medical professionals and the unwavering support of those around her, Madeline passed away last night (Thursday, 26 June) following a sudden cardiac arrest at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.” They also shared a lovely photo of Jeruto as they grieved the 27-year-old whose life was abruptly cut short. She was wearing a stunning black dress with a long cut from the bottom to slightly above her thigh as she posed for a photo. How much does Jeruto’s family need for repatriation? “Her passing is a devastating loss to her family, friends, and the broader Kenyan and African diaspora communities in Australia. Madeline was admired for her humility, discipline, and resilience—qualities that touched many hearts. As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, we also come together to honour her memory by helping her family return her body to Kenya for a dignified farewell. The total repatriation cost is estimated at KSh 5.8 million, covering funeral expenses, flights, and necessary arrangements,” the post continued.

Several netizens shared the information far and wide as they appealed to well-wishers to help the family repatriate the young lady’s body. Kenyans grieve after Madeline Jeruto’s death in Australia Others penned heartfelt condolences and prayed for strength for the bereaved during this difficult time. Ng’etich Nick Kibichii: “My heartfelt condolences to my former primary school teacher and neighbour, Mr Jonah Sang, and the entire family for the loss of their beloved daughter. May the soul of Madeline Jeruto rest in eternal peace.” Cliff Mokua: “So we compromise studies over health issues. It seems climate change affected her since 2023, two weeks after arriving. She could’ve boycotted studies and come back home to Kenya. “May her soul rest in peace.” Silas Rutto: “My heartfelt condolences to her family, relatives, and friends for the demise of my former student, Madeline. Poleni sana. May her soul rest in peace.” Eric Tirop:

“My sincere condolences to the friends and family on the sudden demise of our daughter, Madeline Jeruto. May her soul rest in eternal peace.” Greg Koech: “My sincere condolences to the family of my fellow schoolmate and later, college mate. May God grant you comfort for the loss of your child and our dear friend Madeline. Mutyo missing!”
