In response, the person cheekily responded: “Poa mum, siendi tau, naenda tao.” In the thread, another young person also shared a screenshot of his private message with his father, warning him not to go to town. “Hi son, I hope you are well. I urge you to remain indoors tomorrow for your safety. Please, it’s your father saying. Goodnight,” read the message. Another parent also urged her son to be careful: “Good morning, hope you are doing well, hii week ya Gen Z. Kindly take care.”
Another father also commanded her son not to go to work on Wednesday, June 25, due to the protest. “Nataka utoke kazini leo kijana yangu.” “Daddy na kazi?” the son asked. “Nimesema nataka utoke kazini. Wametangaza Nairobi kuna maandamano. Nisiskie umeenda uko na mama yako anakungoja sana. Amekupigia simu umekataa kuchukua,” the dad responded. The screenshots in the thread were more than these.
