Nyandarua County faulted for hiring 50 legal firms

Nyandarua County Government is on the spot for irregularly hiring over 50 legal firms despite having a County Attorney.

County Governor Kiarie Badilisha was at pains to convince the Senate’s Public Accounts Committee that the procurement of the legal services was approved by the County Executive Committee as per the law and was done fairly.

The Senators also sought evidence to prove procurement of the legal services was approved by the county executive committee as required by the law.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly special funds committee is concerned over the spending of the petroleum development Fund by the energy ministry on private entities.

Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira was put task over the validity of granting Kenya association of manufacturers Ksh 35 million for conducting energy audit funds the ministry withdrew from the Petroleum Development Fund.
