Karangu Muraya’s 1st Wife Triza Urges Him to Stay Quiet after Recurrent Backlash: “Heri Kunyamaza”

It has been a rough season for gospel singer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya, whose every move in public has seemingly sparked controversy, from political associations to personal matters. Karangu Muraya’s 1st wife, Triza Njeri, urged him to stop explaining himself online.  Why has Karangu been facing backlash? The singer has faced a wave of criticism following publicised breakups, backlash for mingling with high-ranking government officials like President William Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki, and even hostility from some crowds. However, through it all, Karangu has made one thing clear, that he will not stay silent.

The singer has repeatedly taken to social media to respond to critics head-on defending his marital problems with Triza Njeri, his first wife, and assumed political affiliations. His recent appearance in Murang’a County on June 11 was no exception. After encountering a seemingly hostile crowd, Karangu went live on social media for over 30 minutes, attempting to set the record straight and explain what had really transpired. However, not everyone thinks he should keep explaining himself. Triza has offered a short but telling piece of advice to her embattled husband. Taking to social media, the mother of two urged Karangu to avoid the pressure of trying to clarify everything. In a message written in Kikuyu, Triza said: “Heri kunyamaza juu sasa… Someone can be killed by the pressure that is here.” Her remarks, though brief, resonated with many on social media, with users also advising Karangu.

See the post below: Here are some comments from social media users: Cynthie Nduma: “Advise that husband of yours.” Annie Saimon: “Mrs peace is telling us not to panic who told her we panicked.” Mūūgī Kīragū: “Mwambie aseme tu one term. It’s not lost.” Derrick Mbugua: “We love you Mr wonderful just remember one good thing we did and come back to the people. We feel you are a good man but they have learnt you and now want to use you kusafisha. You now want to know their true colours try to quit . Just be smart because the people want you back on their side and they mean it.” Baba Talisha: “To my fellow Influencers,Ambassadors . As influencers and brand ambassadors, we carry more than just a product—we carry the trust of communities and the image of the brands we represent. Taking a political stand is a personal right, but doing so publicly while representing a brand is a delicate line. Not because our voices don’t matter—but because our platforms influence minds, shape narratives, and impact the brands tied to us.”

Margaret Mukiri: “Eti advice Mr.Wonderful,, you can’t serve two masters ,, you either be hot or cold, focus.” Mercy Kinyua: “You can’t serve two masters at a time. Choose one… either touching lives ama politics. Otherwise kutakulamba sana.” Triza Njeri urged her husband to keep silent as he faces intense public scrutiny.  Was Karangu hurt by Murang’a crowd? Meanwhile, Karangu’s second wife, Carol Kim, also took to social media to update fans about his condition. Concerned followers had flooded her pages with questions about his wellbeing. She calmed their fears by confirming that he was safe and there was no cause for alarm, easing worries from netizens who feared he had been harmed or taken into custody.
