TikTok star Khaby Lame was briefly detained in the United States after overstaying his visa. TikTok Star Khaby Lame detained in US, later allowed to depart. How many days did Khaby Lame take in US? According to US authorities, the 25-year-old Italian was apprehended at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for immigration violations. “US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, for immigration violations,” the agency said in a statement to the press.

Source: Twitter Lame, who made a name for himself with his silent videos mocking overly complicated internet tutorials, entered the US on April 30 but overstayed the terms of his visa.  ICE confirmed that he was released on the same day of his detention and allowed to voluntarily depart the country. Lame has not commented on the incident. However, according to Global Nation, the world’s most-followed TikToker has since left the US. Khaby Lame, who boasts over 162 million followers on TikTok, is recognised as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador and has earned fame and wealth through his social media content, including brand partnerships. His signature gesture, palms turned up in exasperation, accompanied by a knowing smile and wide eyes, has made him one of the most popular creators on TikTok.

His rise to fame began after losing his job as a factory mechanic in March 2020, when he started posting content from his family’s housing project in Chivasso, near Turin, Italy. Netizens react to Khaby Lame’s detention As expected, many netizens have since reacted to the news of his detention. “Do you know this man? I sure do. He has 160M+ TikTok followers. He’s apolitical; he does silent comedy, making fun of stupid life hacks. Far-right MAGA influencer Bo Loudon brags that he dimed out Khaby Lame and got him detained by ICE. And so he did. TikTok is going to go nuts,” one Xweep tweeted. @tony_dungy: “An illegal is an illegal. We can’t be showing preferential treatment based on wealth and tic tok followers. I know it’s the American way but I hope it doesn’t apply here.”

@olgentyre: “He got here on April 30 and was arrested for overstaying his visa on June 7? What kind of visa did he have, that he’d overstayed it after five weeks? Most tourist visas last from 90 days to six months and business visas also last six months.” @steventhegame: “Italian citizen means US Visa Waiver, 90 days max stay, but he was barely in the US, 35 days or so. Seems weird that he would have overstayed. Weirder that they would have let him go on his own.” . @stavykilo: “He has enough money to buy US citizenship, according to Trump. He probably won’t buy it because he doesn’t need it. TikTok is universal.”
