Stakeholders in Laikipia County have moved in to promote different products aimed at diversifying its tourism offerings to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and culturally rich visitor experience.
This approach not only enhances the region’s appeal but also empowers local businesses, particularly those by the young people and women, by integrating them and their products into the tourism value chain.
Known for its rich variety of flora and fauna which include the endangered species of Northern White Rhinos, The Black Rhinos, Grevy Zebra, Black Leopard among others stakeholders aim to increase the number of visitors coming here.
During the inaugural of Laikipia Tourism and Wildlife Expo stakeholders agreed to implore more on conservation of the wildlife habitats.
Gilbert Mutembei the Laikipia Tourism Association Chairman said that they are also promoting conference tourism with Nanyuki being known as a destination for mountain climbing and experiencing the equator.
