Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has announced he is stepping back from the music scene to focus on his personal life, particularly his family.
The singer, whose real name is Daniel Anidugbe, revealed the decision on his official X account, stating that he’s been called out by loved ones for allegedly prioritizing his music career over family time.
“No more recording for me… just enjoying life like it should be,” he wrote. “My family don diss me say I choose studio over them, I’m changing.”
While the decision appears to be a temporary break, the ‘Buga’ hitmaker also hinted at the possibility of retiring from music in the not-so-distant future.
Responding to a fan’s comment about his non-stop music output, Kizz Daniel revealed he has hundreds of unreleased songs and plans to share them before calling it quits.
“I have over 600 songs I want to dish out before I hang boot,” he noted.

The announcement comes just days after the release of his latest project, the Lemon Chase EP, which includes standout collaborations such as “Titi” featuring Fola and “Al-Jannah” with Bella Shmurda and ODUMODUBLVCK. The EP also includes the empowering anthem “Black Girl Magic.”
He had recently teased yet another project, an upcoming EP titled Orange Chase, prompting fans to comment on his relentless output. “VADO wan finish us with overfeeding,” one fan joked, referencing his nickname and the back-to-back music releases.
Kizz is known for his smooth vocals, catchy melodies, and romantic lyrics, Kizz Daniel has become one of the leading voices in Afrobeats, consistently delivering commercial hits like ‘Buga’ ‘Lie’ ‘Cough’ among others.
He has also performed on major stages, including the Fifa wolrd cup 2022 finals in Qatar.
He first gained prominence in 2014 with his breakout hit ‘Woju,’ which quickly became a chart-topping anthem across Africa.
Formerly known as Kiss Daniel, he changed his stage name to Kizz Daniel in 2018 after leaving G-Worldwide Entertainment and launching his own label Flyboy.
