Kenyan content creator Lenny Vybz opened up about his journey in a candid interview with Oga Obinna on June 25, 2025.
Reflecting on his upbringing, Lenny attended primary school in Nandi and later joined Litein Boys High School. His high school experience was tough, with a teacher allegedly disciplining him harshly, but despite these challenges, he achieved a B+ grade and pursued software engineering at CUEA (Catholic Open University of Eastern Africa).
When pressed about his past arrest, Lenny recounted a misunderstanding during a video shoot. “I used to create cinematic action comedy with prop toy guns that looked real,” he explained.
One day, while preparing for a shoot with the props on a table and the door open, a passing hawker mistook them for real firearms and alerted the police.
“They made us pose with the toy guns for photos, sent them to the OCS, and detained us for hours before releasing us,” he said, recalling the ordeal.

Lenny credited his father as his biggest supporter, noting that his creativity in content creation comes naturally but requires consistent practice.
He shared how he met fellow creator Mluo through a mutual friend who recognised their shared passion for content creation, sparking a collaboration that boosted their profiles.
Discussing his social media interactions, Lenny laughed about receiving odd Instagram DMs, including persistent messages and video calls from a male admirer, which he ignored.
He admitted to once chasing fame by messaging celebrities, including Obinna, using a friend’s account before his own rise to stardom, though he received no replies. “I was hustling for attention back then,” he said with a grin.
Reflecting on a 2020 stunt, Lenny recalled his thirst for virality, filming himself in town wearing a vest and towel, hoping to trend.
“The video barely hit 300 views,” he joked, highlighting his early struggles and growth in the competitive content creation space.
