Tanzanian R&B star Juma Jux has shared the five key qualities that drew him to his Nigerian socialite wife, Priscilla Ojo, offering insight into his vision for a lifelong partner.
In a recent interview, Jux explained that men often have specific expectations when selecting a spouse, particularly regarding their role as the future mother of their children.
Jux prioritised marrying a woman without children to avoid the complexities of blended families and to build a fresh family legacy with Priscilla.
“I wanted to start a family from scratch and avoid raising children from previous relationships,” he said, reflecting their shared desire for a unified family history.
This choice, he noted, stemmed from his personal goal to have children within marriage, a value central to his partner selection.
Physical attraction and emotional connection were also crucial for Jux, who sees these as foundations for a joyful marriage. He described Priscilla’s genuine love, intelligence, and independence as magnetic qualities.
“Her education and drive make her even more appealing,” he said, emphasising the importance of romantic love and mutual compatibility in sustaining a partnership.

Jux also admired Priscilla’s self-sufficiency and business acumen, qualities he noticed during their courtship. “She’s a hardworking go-getter with sharp business sense,” he shared, highlighting her ability to balance ambition with their relationship. This alignment in work ethic and goals strengthened his commitment to her.
Religious compatibility rounded out Jux’s criteria, providing a shared spiritual foundation. Regarding children, he adopts a balanced approach, leaving the timing to divine will.
“After marriage, couples naturally hope for children, but we trust the Creator’s plan,” he said, embracing both preparation and life’s unpredictability.
Jux and Priscilla’s love story culminated in a series of lavish ceremonies, starting with a grand wedding in Dar es Salaam on February 7, 2025.
They held a second celebration in Nigeria, honouring Priscilla’s heritage, before returning to Dar es Salaam for a final event on May 28, 2025.
