Napoli were crowned the 2024-2025 Italian Serie A champions, their 4th scudetto , after beating Cagliari 2-0 in the final match on Friday night at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium.
Goals from Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay and Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, in each half sealed a victory for the Naples.
Napoli lifted the scudetto by a point over their arch-rivals Inter Milan, who also won 2-0 away to Cesc Fabregas’s side, Como, in another fixture which was played concurrently.
Stefan Dev rej and Joaquin Correa scored a goal apiece in each half for Inter’s win, but it wasn’t enough to defend their title. Antonio Conte’s Napoli finished the season with 82 points, followed by Inter on 81 points.
McTominay was named the MVP for the Serie A 2024-2025 season.
Napoli has now won the scudetto in 1986-1987, 1989-1990, 2022-2023 & 2024-2025.
Juventus remains the most successful team in the league with 36 scudettos, followed by Inter Milan on 20, one more than their city rivals AC Milan.
